We have recently released our 2010 Estate Petite Sirah and our 2010 Estate Syrah. Both of these wines were aged in oak for 20 months. They are unfined and unfiltered to preserve the deep flavors and complexity of the fruit. Both of these wines show their wonderful characteristics of being well balanced with great body, and smoothness, with a lingering finish. They may require decanting before serving. We suggest 30 minutes. Both of these wines will age for several years. With time it is natural to find some sediment in the bottles.
Our goal is to create wines of superior quality and distinction to be enjoyed with a wide variety of foods.
The Petite Sirah is full-bodied and has a rich purple color. It shows a concentration of ripe berry flavors and spicy aromas with a hint of vanilla. It is well balanced with great mouth feel with subtle oak and a lingering finish. It pairs well with steaks, BBQ pork, venison, medium and hard cow and sheep cheeses, and of course chocolates.
The Syrah is full-bodied with intense black cherry, plum and dark berry flavors. A hint of vanilla and toasty-oak add to the flavor of this exceptional wine. It pairs well with smoked and seasoned cheeses, roasted and grill red meets and game, sausages, salmon and chocolate desserts.
Only 56 cases of Petite Sirah and 126 cases of Syrah were produced. At this time they are available by direct sales, through our Wine Club, and at select retail outlets and restaurants. Please contact us for details.
